About

I am a Berlin-based abstract artist originally from the US. Painting is a large part of how I process, make connections, and communicate with the world. My work often feels like a journal entry, a memory or mood from a particular day or season. I purposefully work quickly to avoid over-thinking and also for the unexpected results it creates. My main approach to painting is to create multiple layers of color and texture and then cut that abstract imagery back until something representational emerges - these days it’s mostly plants and flowers that are showing up.

My work has always been about connection and community and finding softness in the spaces in between. Finding a space that feels like home. And often times the initial abstract I create includes a house or neighborhood, or is similar to an aerial view. I enjoy these varying degrees of perspective and the process of viewing things from far away and then zooming in and altering the focus to something more personal, nuanced, and familiar.
